Joe Thomas, Ph.D., of the United States Naval Academy’s Stockdale Center for Ethical Leadership, presented a special program entitled “Leadership and the American Experience” on Tuesday, June 23, 2026 at the Avalon Theatre in Easton, Maryland. 

Dr. Thomas began the evening exploring the role of leadership in shaping the American experience, drawing on his expertise in ethics, character, and civic engagement. Following his remarks, he moderated a panel discussion featuring distinguished community leaders, John Horner, President and CEO of Easton Utilities; Butch Townsend, Regional President of the East Region, Shore United Bank, Amy Wilson, VP Commercial Banking of Burke & Herbert Bank; and Savannah Winston, owner of VanTech Business Solutions.

The evening concluded with an audience question-and-answer session, providing attendees an opportunity to engage directly with the speakers.
