LEADS: Leadership Education for Advanced Development of Skills
Shore Leadership is proud to offer two, one-half day advanced leadership development sessions with our Shore Leadership Facilitators, Carol Graser and Joe Thomas.
Each session is 3 1/2 hours long and you may request CEU's. The sessions are open to anyone, so bring along a co-worker or friend!

Time: 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Crisis Leadership with Dr. Joe Thomas
Bad things do happen from time to time to good people an good organizations. How leaders react to these situations can make all the difference. How leaders prepare for these situations is even more critical. Research shows there are some basis steps that can be taken to prevent unnecessary escalation. Simple and direct response is usually called for in time of crisis. We will cover the three step process of Assess-Decide_Act ensures that someone's poor choices don't become your organization's crisis.
Time: 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Leading Up with Dr. Joe Thomas
Leading up can be defined as "Consciously working with your boss to obtain the best possible results for you, your boss, and your organization." It is also the pursuit of a "healthy and productive working relationship based on mutual respect and understanding - understanding your own and your boss's strengths, weaknesses, goals, work styles, and needs." By focusing on skills in three board areas, we will explore the best practices of leading up: Partnering, Influencing/Negotiating and Political Savvy.
Where: The Eastern Shore Higher Education Center located next to the wind turbine on the Chesapeake College Wye Mills Campus. Parking is free!
Cost:
- $50 for one session for 2017 dues paying Shore Leadership Alumni or current class member or
- $90 if you sign up to do both sessions
- $75 for one session for 2017 Shore Leadership Alumni non-dues paying alumni and guests
- $135 if you sign up to do both sessions
- $35 additional cost for CEU's for one session
- $50 additional cost for CEU's for both sessions
Lunch will be provided by the Eastern Shore Higher Education Center.
